7 Cup Burfi

  • 1/2 cup besan flour
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup ghee
  • 1 cup sugar

About

A traditional South Indian dessert that is made with 7 cups of ingredients. It is a popular sweet which is generally made during the festival season which has similar texture like mysore pak, but it has its own unique taste and flavour!

Instructions

  • grease a flat pan/plate with ghee
  • in a heavy bottom pan add gram flour and fry until the raw smell is gone
  • once the raw smell is gone, add other ingredients and mix well
  • keep stirring every 30 secs until the mixture becomes a dough consistency (about 20 to 25 minutes)
  • once the mixture has reached the desired consistency remove from heat and transfer to the greased plate
  • start flattening the mixture and make sure the top is as smooth as as possible
  • let it cool for 5 minutes
  • cut it into diamond pieces OR whatever shape you like
  • let it cool completely
  • the yummy sweet is ready for serving!!!
Tips & Tricks
  • use a heavy bottom pan OR non-stick pan for easy cooking
  • keep stirring DO NOT let the mixture burn
  • for the best result blend the coconut and make it as smooth as possible

  7. let it cool for 5 minutes, cut it into diamond pieces OR whatever shape you like

  8. let it cool completely, the yummy sweet is ready for serving!!!
