in a pan heat cooking oil and add mustard seeds, methi seeds, channa dal, curry leaves and asafoetida
add garlic and saute until it turns light brown color
add chopped tomatoes, chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt
add tamarind juice
boil for 10 minutes on medium high or until the gravy is thick (semi solid state)
enjoy with plain white rice, idli, and dosai.!!
