Milk Payasam

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup cooked rice
  • 1 cup sugar (adjust to your taste)
  • 1/8 tsp elachi powder (optional)
  • few saffron strings (optional)

Paal Payasam Recipe is rice pudding made by simmering rice in milk till it comes to a creamy consistency. Serve it after your everyday meals or for some special occasion

Instructions

  • in a blender add 1/2 cup cooked rice and 1/2 cup milk grind it coarsely
  • mix the rice mixter with remaining milk and sugar
  • pour the rice mixture into the heavy bottom pan and keep stirring every minute until the mixture becomes a porriage consistency (about 10 to 15 minutes)
  • once the mixture has reached the desired(porridge) consistency remove from heat
  • add the elachi powder and few saffron strings to the payasam
  • the yummy payasam is ready for serving!!!
Tips & Tricks - use heavy bottom pan - keep stirring for every minute
  • use a heavy bottom pan for easy cooking
  • keep stirring DO NOT let the mixture burn
  • use 1 cup of condensed milk instead of sugar for better taste
