Homemade Chappathi

  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp ghee/oil
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

Prep Work (make dough)
  • mix flour and salt well
  • add water little by little and mix together
  • once the dough reaches to the dough consistency pour 1 tsp oil on the top of the dough and cover it tight
  • keep it aside for at least 1o minutes
  • divide the dough into equal number of medium size orange balls (4 or 5)
  • make it flat mini round circle
  • make it flat (use any silicone mat or wooden board as base) as much as possible using roller pin
  • heat the flat pan and add the Chappathi (flat bread)
  • flip every 30 seconds and apply ghee on both side and cook until both sides turn golden brown
  • repeat the step 2 until all the dough is finished
Tips & Tricks
  • Don't add all the water at once, add little by little until it reaches the dough consistency
  • spread it as flat as you can

Step by Step Instructions

  1. divide the dough into equal number of medium size orange balls (4 or 5)

  2. make it flat round circle

  3. heat the flat pan and add the Chappathi (flat bread) flip every 30 seconds and apply ghee on both side and cook until both sides turn golden brown. Repeat the step 2 until all the dough is finished!!

  4. Enjoy the Chappathi with any side dish you like!!
