  • 1/2 cup Urad dhal
  • 7 or 8 red chillies
  • 1/2 tsp salt (as per taste)
  • 1/8 tsp asafoetida
  • 1 tsp black sesame seeds

Instructions

  • in a pan add channa dhal, urad dhal and dry roast them until golden color
  • add red chillies and fry for few minutes until the red chillies are hot and crispy
  • turn off the stove, add sesame seeds and asafoetida
  • let it cook and then grind with salt
Tips & Tricks
  • adjust spicy level according to your spice level
  • this will taste better with sesame oil

Step by Step Instructions

  1. in a pan add channa dhal, urad dhal and dry roast them until golden color

  3. turn off the stove, add sesame seeds and asafoetida

  4. let it cook and then grind with salt

  5. mix 1 tsp podi with 1/2 tsp sesame oil and this can be served with hot idli or dosa!!!
